Properties of Bitumen VG 10 / VG 20 / VG 30 / VG 40
Viscosity Grade (VG) Bitumen is top class petroleum grade bitumen obtained from fractional vacuum bottom which comes from fractional distillation of crude oil. Viscosity Grade Bitumen differ each other due to their change in properties and behavior with variation in temperature.
Uses of VG 10 Bitumen:
Used in cold climate for surface dressing and asphalt concrete. VG 10 Bitumen is also used in production of Bitumen Emulsion. VG 10 is alternate to 80/100 penetration grade bitumen.Uses of VG 20 Bitumen:
Used in moderate climate for premix and asphalt concrete.Uses of VG 30 Bitumen:
Used in hot climate with heavy traffic. Suitable for Asphalt concrete works where average temperature is below 40 degree Celsius.Uses of VG 40 Bitumen:
Effective for airport and heavy duty road which requires high skid resistance and require high temperature tolerance.
